Joeys Alumni 3rd level scholarship presentations - Classes of 2025

Our 3rd level scholarship presentations to 3 of our Leaving Cert 2025 students, Evan Conroy, Thomas Bannerman and one other (who was unable to attend) took place on Thursday, 13th November 2025. The presentation was also attended by students' parents and family members plus a number of teachers and past pupils. Well done to the 3 recipients and best wishes for your college and post-college lives. Also, a big thank you to Paddy Walsh, John Kennedy, Jim Dowling and all the other past pupils from 1968 (+1 from 1967) for organising and funding this scholarship scheme covering 3 students per year since 2021.

Speakers at the event were:
Acting Principal, Alexandra Duane, who told us about the background to the scholarship scheme.

Past Pupil and scholarship committee member, Jim Dowling, who made the presentations and gave some helpful tips to the scholarship recipients on how to get the best out of life in college.

Joeys Alumni President, Dave Rafferty, who gave a brief account of teamworking between alumni and staff to deliver concrete benefits such as P-Tech, enhanced school facilities, publication of "The Epic Origins of Hurling" and past pupil networking.
