Overall Concept Award winners at the International Cuchulainn Event in London

The CEO of the Ilac in town bought one of our Mind Matters books when we were selling them a year and a half ago. He was blown away by the work the lads and Joeys are doing to promote Mental Health. From this, his company sponsored the Cuchulainn Enterprise event in our school at the end of last year. Our team made up of Sean Higgins, Joe McAuley, Cian Maloney, Lee Cadwell, Matthew Boland, Peter McDermott, Evan White, Kevin Trefas Tom Gaskin and Jack McGuirk were the champions on that day.

They then were chosen to represent Ireland in the International Cuchulainn Event held yesterday in London. We competed with schools from England and Scotland and were awarded the Overall Concept Award for the entire event.

4 themes were given in the pre brief before the event:
Young People
Elderly

Refugees
Homeless people

Our lads were then allocated the Elderly theme and came up with  their own community action project called 'Generation Joeys'. A group that support the wellbeing of the elderly in the area through activities, buddy system, book clubs and much more.

The lads were absolutely outstanding and were a credit to our school!

To come away a winner again has been such a huge achievement for them as a group! They have come a very long way since creating Mind Matters, their mental health book in TY.

Joeys come out on top again!!

Thanks so much to everyone who covered our classes yesterday,

Thanks to a special past pupil for supporting their trip.
