Great News! Joeys Sensory Garden
Delighted to report that one of our teachers, with the assistance of Joeys Alumni, has been successful in her application to the O'Brien Educational Trust, administered by Dublin Diocese for funding of our sensory garden project.
Many thanks to past pupil, Michael Barrett, for pointing the way towards this source of charitable funding for DEIS schools.
It's a coincidence that the O'Brien Educational Trust originated from a legacy to the Bishop of Dublin by Brigid O'Brien in the 1870s. This enabled the purchase of the former estate owned by Lord Charlemont and ultimately led to the building of Joeys, which opened in 1888 and later to the primary schools on Griffith Avenue:
